Local search & reviews

Showing up when somebody nearby searches for what you do

Google Business Profile kept current, reviews asked for properly, pages for the neighbourhoods you actually serve, plus a monthly report that measures whether Google and the AI assistants actually recommend you. $250 a month.

Most local customers never scroll past the map, and a growing number never search at all; they ask an AI assistant. Droom local search management is $250 a month and covers your Google Business Profile, weekly posts and photo updates, a review request system that runs automatically after each job, and a page for each neighbourhood you serve. Every month you get the Droom Visibility Report: we ask the questions your customers ask and record whether you were the answer.

3map spots

The Google map pack shows three businesses. For “plumber near me” or “salon near me”, being one of the three is most of the game, and reviews plus proximity decide it.

Why the map pack matters more than the blue links

Search "plumber near me" on a phone and the first thing on screen is a map with three businesses on it. For a local service business that block is the whole game. Being fourth is close to being invisible.

What decides those three slots is mostly distance, how complete and active your Google Business Profile is, and your reviews. Two of those three are things you can change this month.

How do I get more Google reviews without nagging people?

Ask once, immediately, with a link that takes one tap. The request goes out while the job is still fresh, not three weeks later in a newsletter. That timing alone is the difference between a two per cent response rate and twenty.

Every review gets a reply, including the bad ones, because a business that answers a one-star complaint calmly reads better to the next customer than one with no complaints at all. Replies are drafted for you to approve.

What are neighbourhood pages and do I need them?

People search by area. "Dentist Mount Pleasant", "electrician North Burnaby", "bakery Commercial Drive". A single page that lists every area you cover will not rank for any of them.

So you get one page per area that genuinely matters, each with real detail about working there rather than the same paragraph with the place name swapped. Three or four good ones beat thirty thin ones, which is why this is capped rather than sold by volume.

What happens when customers ask ChatGPT instead of Google?

More people every month skip the search box and ask an AI assistant: "who’s a good plumber in Abbotsford?" The assistant reads the open web, picks a few names, and answers. If your site is unreadable to it, or a competitor’s is simply clearer, you are not in that answer, and you never find out.

We measure it. Each month the Droom Visibility Report asks live AI assistants the exact questions your customers ask, with web search on, and records three facts per question: were you named, was your website cited as the source, and who was recommended instead. Then we fix what kept you out: machine-readable hours, services and location, pages an assistant can actually quote. The next month’s report shows whether it moved. No scores out of 100. Questions and answers, on paper.

How long before it works?

Profile changes can move things within a few weeks. Review counts move over months, because they depend on how many jobs you do. Neighbourhood pages usually take two to three months to settle.

Nobody can promise a position, and anybody quoting you a guaranteed number one is either lying or planning to rank you for a phrase nobody searches. What you get instead is the monthly report: the same questions, the same instruments, so movement shows up as movement rather than as a promise.

Questions people ask before they hire

What is the Google map pack?

The block of three local businesses shown on a map at the top of a local search result. It appears above the normal blue links and takes most of the clicks on mobile, which is where local searches mostly happen.

How much does local SEO cost in Vancouver?

Droom charges $250 a month, covering Google Business Profile management, review requests and replies, and neighbourhood pages. It can be bought on its own or alongside a website.

Can you guarantee I will rank number one?

No, and neither can anyone else. Rankings depend on distance from the searcher, which nobody controls. What is controllable is profile completeness, activity and reviews, and those are what get worked on.

Do you need access to my Google account?

You add me as a manager on your Google Business Profile, which you can remove at any second. Ownership stays yours. I never ask for your Google account password.

Can you get my business recommended by ChatGPT and other AI assistants?

Nobody can force an AI assistant to recommend anyone, and anybody selling a guaranteed placement is guessing. What can be done: make your site fully readable to assistants, give them structured facts to quote, and measure monthly whether it worked. The Droom Visibility Report records the actual questions and answers, so you see movement instead of taking my word for it.

What if I do not have a Google Business Profile yet?

Then setting it up and getting it verified is the first job, and it is included. Verification usually takes a few days and sometimes involves a postcard.
